     Emerald Lake is a nice lake to visit. Whitewater paddling is great on Little Salmon River, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a great choice. This lake is located in the wonderful Wallowa Mountains. Be careful coming to Emerald Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. Black Imp is a peak you can spot from Emerald Lake; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Rapid River Trail.
This lake is so wonderful.
 
   Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Black Lake; Black Lake Campground is a nice campground here. All year is a great time in the Wallowa Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. Stay the night at Huckleberry Campground, and going for a hike along the Old Boise Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful.
At Emerald Lake you don’t see much rain; through
 
               the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is July. Horse Pasture Basin is right here at Emerald Lake, and Joes Gap is around here, and is a great place. The warmest time of the year at Emerald Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Emerald Lake nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's.
Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Wallowa Mountains. Snake River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by, and do take a hike on the Deep Creek Trail.
