If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Mccall-The Hunt Lodge, Id is a great choice, and camping is available at Upper Payette Lake Campground. Ellis Lake is frequently a rather arid place; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is July. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Ellis Lake. For the       period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Ellis Lake. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. Why not go to Granite Lake Dam if you're here; a delightful nearby hotel is AmericInn McCall. This lake is so wonderful. Black Tip is a peak you can see from Ellis Lake, and close by you locate the Box Lake Trail which is a brilliant                  hiking trail. A great spot near Ellis Lake is Fisher Creek Saddle, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Crestline Trail. And if that's not enough there's heaps more exciting things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. There is a splendid hiking trail in the neighborhood of Ellis Lake called the Lava Butte Trail, and lakes are such calm locations, why not visit Granite Lake. Yeah, come here to Ellis Lake for a great time. Why not camp at Hazard Campground while you're here at Ellis Lake, and naturally Lake Creek flows through this area.
