If you are in Idaho county it's always a good idea to stop by Elk Lake. Elk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. Elk Lake gets very little rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful.
This lake is so wonderful. The Broken Leg Trail offers hiking at its best, naturally you could also visit John Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. High temperatures at Elk

| | Lake throughout the summertime are in the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's while Elk Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Elk Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Heavens Gate Trail, and Devils Hole is right here at Elk Lake.

on, the Salmon River Mountains has it all. Paddling on Little Salmon River is so much fun, and a great nearby hotel is Whitetail Club and Resort. Elk Lake is not the only site nearby, Mary Lake is a nearby lake, and if you need a
spot to stay Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a delightful choice. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Salmon River Mountains. Elk Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one
day, State Campground Recreation Site is a tremendous place to camp nearby; drift down the rapids of Hazard Creek in a kayak.
There's great hiking along the Lava Butte Trail; you can stay the night at Canyon Pines RV Resort.
