Prospect Point is next to Elk Lake and is a great location to have a look at, and if the weather is lovely, you get a pleasant panorama of Lookout Mountain from Elk Lake. Skiing at Sun Valley is one of those things you just should do, and Rough Lake is a great lake close by. Around Elk Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; December is when you get the most snow here while July is       the month with the least amount of precipitation. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River, and lakes are such serene sites, why not explore Garland Lakes. Summertime highs at Elk Lake typically tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Elk Lake temperatures dip to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Challis National Forest is                  a tremendous local forest. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Elk Lake has to offer, you can camp at Dutchman Flat Campground, and Elk Lake is right by the Yellow Belly Trail. This lake is so wonderful. It's always brilliant to go to Sunbeam Hot Springs, and unsurprisingly Blind Creek flows through this vicinity. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bull Moose Trail.
