The beauty of Elk Lake attracts many people from all around. This place, Elk Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. There's some flowing water close by, Drop Creek is a stream you can take a look at while here. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Elk Lake has to offer, you can camp at Grandjean Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Sawtooth Range. Cony Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and if you haven’t been to Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here. The vista of beautiful Cony Peak near Elk Lake is tremendous; Fern Falls is always fun to check out. Elk Lake gets a normal amount of
annual rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while July is typically the driest month. Through the warm days of summer here at Elk Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's. Summer night lows
drop down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Elk Lake.
You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Sawtooth Range. The Bull Moose Trail is a
brilliant hiking trail in the neighborhood of Elk Lake. There's so much to do here at Elk Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Iron Creek Campground is a glorious place for that.
