Just can't get enough of the Sawtooth Range. Going for a hike on the Yellow Belly Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Salmon River. There are great sites to look at along the Yuba River Trail, needless to say you could also go to Toxaway Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. The warmest time of the year       at Edith Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while Edith Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Soldier Mountain Ski Resort, and nearby you hit upon the Bull Moose Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Edith Lake is a good place of typical rain; of all                  the months in a year January is the one with the most snow while July is frequently the driest month. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great planet it would be. There's so much to do here at Edith Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Smoky Bear Campground is a fine site for that, and the summit of Parks Peak can be spotted from Edith Lake. And if that's not enough there's a lot more fun things to do in the Sawtooth Range. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Edith Lake has to offer, you can camp at Alturas Inlet Campground, and a lake close by is Bowknot Lake.
