Dry Lake is pretty dried out typically; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. Be careful coming to the Clearwater Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Dry Lake has to offer, you can camp at Burgdorf Campground; going for a hike on the Lava Butte Trail is always a glorious       adventure. During the long summer days highs here at Dry Lake get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; night lows in the 20's for Dry Lake. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Dry Lake. in close proximity to Dry Lake you'll stumble on a wooded area called Nez Perce National Forest; nearby you stumble on the Broken Leg Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail.                  Peterson Flat is a tremendous spot to check out, and if you get bored of Dry Lake you could also stop at nearby Bear Lake. Yeah, come up here to the Clearwater Mountains for a pleasant time. Some close by water includes Vinegar Creek, and the summit of Carey Dome can be seen from Dry Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Vinegar Creek Rapids is an inspiring location to pop by during your stay, and there are good places to discover along the Crestline Trail. If you come at the right time of year, Salmon River offers some magnificent whitewater. There's so much to do here at Dry Lake that you need to camp here for a while, California Creek Bar Campground is a pleasant site for that. This lake is so wonderful.
