paddling on White Sand Creek. The annual rainfall here at Dodge Lake is about average; most of the snow falls throughout January, and the driest month of the year is July. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the
amusing stuff in the Bitterroot Range. Big Sand Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, needless to say you could also explore Dan Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.

 | 15 miles away I venture up to Tag Alder every year. It is getting more and more difficult to get up there because of the new growth of trees from the fires of 2000. Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore.
