Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River - South Fork, and tremendous hiking is available along the South Fork Buckhorn Trail. Dismal Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Buckhorn Bar Campground is a great local campground, and the Needles Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Hot Spring is an inspiring spot to explore while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 80's at Dismal Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and night lows at Dismal Lake during the winter generally dip into the 10's. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains.
