Dismal Lake is a nice lake to visit. The amount of rain that falls at Dismal Lake is close to the national average; during the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest month is July. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bitterroot Range. There are tremendous places to look at along the Nelson Peak Trail, and you can stay the night at Tin Can Flat Campground. The summit of Pineapple

| | Peak can be observed from Dismal Lake; a short journey to Hoodoo Spring is always worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Dismal Lake without first going for a hike along the Kyle Creek Trail; dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - St. Regis. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on St. Joe River; Lookout Pass has perfect slopes and a friendly staff. All the outdoors cool things in the Bitterroot Range will keep you coming | |

of Dismal Lake, Devils Lake is nearby. At Dismal Lake during the summer months highs are in the 80's, and the night is somewhat cooler of course, usually in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows
in the 20's for Dismal Lake. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Dismal Lake. Dismal Lake is not the only spot nearby, Hero Lake is a nearby lake, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Lookout Pass.

Lookout Pass

1935. The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho. These ski adventurers would hop off the railcars at the summit and utilize a highway storage shed as a warming hut
