And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do in the neighborhood of Disappointment Lake. Hazard Creek is a great whitewater spot near Disappointment Lake, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Lava Butte Trail. So much fun stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains,       not enough time. This is a good region for folks who like lakes. Lake Serene is a lake close by; Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a glorious place to get some rest. You can run the rapids of Hard Creek in the neighborhood of Disappointment Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Hazard Campground is a delightful spot to camp. For the duration of the summer at Disappointment Lake temperatures are mostly in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's.                  During the winter highs are in the 40's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Disappointment Lake sink into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You get a great view of Grass Mountains from Disappointment Lake, and Grouse Campground is a delightful campground nearby. It is very dried out here at Disappointment Lake regularly; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is July. This place, the Salmon River Mountains, has so much outdoors cool things. While you're here at Disappointment Lake you can take a hike along the Crestline Trail, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Mccall-The Hunt Lodge, Id is a fine site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little spree to Jacks Creek while you're here at Disappointment Lake, and a range like the Grass Mountains is always beautiful.
