A visit to Dawson Lake is always a good idea. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the vicinity of Dawson Lake. Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino is a perfect place to get some rest; if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kootenai. Swamps are attention-grabbing places and Deer Lake Swamp near Dawson Lake is no exception, and in the vicinity of Dawson Lake you find a golf course called Mirror Lake Golf

Not far from Dawson Lake, you'll discover Smith Lake which is a scenic lake; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SANDPOINT NORTH is a nice site to spend a night or two. Looking for some flowing water? Try Fern Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Dawson Lake; Sidehill Trail is a good local trail; why not camp at Smith Lake Campground since you're here at Dawson Lake. Good hiking is available | |

along the Queen Mountain Trail, and Moyie River is a great whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Why not check out Nixon Number One Dam if you're here; there are other locations here than Dawson Lake, for example
Templeman Lake. High temperatures at Dawson Lake during the warm months are in the 80's, and the night is slightly cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during
the wintertime temperatures at Dawson Lake plunge into the 10's. Twin Rivers Canyon Resort is a glorious local campground; you can go for a hike on the Rutledge Creek Trail. At Dawson Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Blue Lake RV Park
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO ... sites. 14 of them are 50amp fullhookup pull-thrus, 3 huge super sites overlooking the lake, and another 20 partial hookup sites. We also have camping cabins and covered wagons and Wooden pole tents with wooden floors. We also have internet, movie rentals, and sell propane too. This area has tons of hiking, fishing, hunting and canoing/kayaking in the Kootenai River. The Kootenai Wildlife Refuge is 5 miles away and is great to hike around. We have fishing and swimming in our 3 acre lake and have 2 huge Lakeside Firepits. Some of the sites have BBQs and Picnic Tables and we sell ice, wood, charcoal, pop, snacks and some RV hookup supplies. Here are a couple of great hikes to add to the site:
Snowcreek Falls, Naples, Idaho. Directions: Go north from Sandpoint on Highway 95 to Naples. Turn left on the old highway 95 and go about 5 miles, passing the Deep Creek Inn. You will cross a railroad crossing, keep following the road until you see a brown Forest Service sign on the right hand side of the road.
