    It's always fun to stop by Lake Darling. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Cabinet Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Porcupine Lake Campground is a tremendous location to camp, and from Lake Darling you acquire a great panorama of Mount Pend Oreille. So many amusing things in the Cabinet Mountains, just extraordinary. There's great hiking along the East Fork Boulder Creek Trail. Lakes are fine; Gem Lake is a lake that's next  
   to Lake Darling. This lake is so wonderful.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. There are magnificent locations to explore along the North Fork Trail, and a great close by hotel is Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kootenai, and Sandpoint Super 8 Motel is a good site to get some rest. Lake Darling is a beautiful lake in the Cabinet Mountains.
Getting to Gem Creek from Lake
 
               Darling is simple; don't leave Lake Darling without first going for a hike along the Hemlock Trail. If you come at the right time of year, Pack River offers some delightful whitewater, and camping at Lake Darling is tremendous fun, East Fork Public Campground is a tremendous local campground. Not much rainfall falls here at Lake Darling; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest.
For the period of the summertime months, highs commonly are in the 80's at Lake Darling. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lake Darling descend into the 20's.
