If you like lakes and you're in this part of Idaho you can check out Curtis Lake. Curtis Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Curtis Lake is a good location of common rainfall; most of the snow falls through January, and the driest month is July. Ashley Inn is a great place to get some rest, and Square Top Lake is a great lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. A short visit to Prince Albert Spring is always worthwhile, and South Fork Salmon

and hit Payette River - Middle Fork. Now, you may assume that's lots but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. While you're here at Curtis Lake you can take a hike along the Curtis Way, and
do set aside some time for Stony Meadow if you're here at Curtis Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Have a good hiking adventure along the Tyndall Creek Trail, and Curtis Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Picnic
Point Campground is a tremendous place to camp nearby. Take a hike on the Big Creek Summit Trail; after a long day outdoors Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a great site to spend a night or two. Summertime highs at Curtis Lake commonly
tend to be in the 80's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 40's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Curtis Lake.

 | The trail to Blackmare Lake is in very poor shape. The fire last year weakened the trees and the wind took down many of them. There are several 24-36' logs across the trail preventing horse travel. Hikers can make the trek, but expect to be climbing over a lot of down timber. The trails themselves are not terrible, but they are very loose with decomposed granite sand.
