     If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Salmon River Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Ashley Inn, and a short spree to Prince Albert Spring is always worthwhile. All through the summer at Curtis Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Curtis Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Do have a look  
   at Stump Lake in the neighborhood of Curtis Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and Curtis Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, South Fork Salmon River Campground is a delightful local campground.
Curtis Lake gets a normal amount of rain; the month with most of the snow is January; the driest of the months is July. Curtis Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Stony Meadow is a pretty spot any time
 
               of year, and Payette River - Middle Fork is a great whitewater spot close by.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. While you're here at Curtis Lake you can take a hike along the Tyndall Creek Trail, and camping at Picnic Point Campground is always a good experience. On a great day at Curtis Lake you can take a hike along the Curtis Way, and a glorious location for whitewater paddling is Salmon River - South Fork.
You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Salmon River Mountains. Going for a hike along the Big Creek Summit Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 McCall is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here, you might as well pop by Big Creek Summit, and you'll locate a delightful lake called Square Top Lake.

Blackmare Lake
The trail to Blackmare Lake is in very poor shape. The fire last year weakened the trees and the wind took down many of them. There are several 24-36' logs across the trail preventing horse travel. Hikers can make the trek, but expect to be climbing over a lot of down timber. The trails themselves are not terrible, but they are very loose with decomposed granite sand.
The other big problem with the trail is that past the signs at the first bridge, there is absolutely no direction as to where the trails will take you or how far you are along the trails. ...
