The Clearwater Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Clearwater Mountains is so good! Wiseboy Lakes is a magnificent lake close to Crystal Lake. This location rules, just check out all the exciting stuff to do in close proximity to Crystal Lake. | | long day outdoors SUPER 8 MOTEL - GRANGEVILLE is a great location to spend a night or two, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Crystal Lake; Nellie Mountain Trail is a fine local trail. You get a great panorama of Buffalo Hump from Crystal Lake; there's whitewater on Clearwater River - South Fork for all you adrenaline junkies. This lake is so wonderful. highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Crystal Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Crystal Lake is pretty arid mostly; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. Now, you
may think that's a load but there's even more fun things to do here in the Clearwater Mountains. A cool spot to stop by near Crystal Lake is Scotts Bluff, and glorious hiking is available along the Reed Bar Trail.

 | I have been to fish lake numerous times. Follow Buffalo Hump rd from Oregrande summit, down to Lake Creek. There follow Lake Creek trail about 3 miles or less to Fish Lake. This route is Calender Canyon. An easy walk. Not steep. Beautiful scenery, and when you get to Fish Lake, don't be surprised to see Moose. I have seen 6 at a time on the lake. A special place to me, as I and my late wife used to go there.... |
