On a beautiful day you get a sight of Dietrich Butte from Crater Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Jerome/Twin Falls is a splendid location to spend a night or two. For the duration of the days of summer here at Crater Reservoir, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while Crater Reservoir night low temperatures

| | throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Soar down the rapids of Little Wood River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Big Wood River is so much fun; if you get bored of Crater Reservoir you could also go to nearby Hunt Waterhole. If you came for an overnight stay Shoshone RV Park is a fine spot to camp, and Corner Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Crater Reservoir is ordinarily a pretty arid spot; through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest month is July. | |
