It's always fun to stop by Cowan Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Sawmill National Forest Campground; don't leave Cowan Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Triguero Trail. Very pleasant water scenery is available at Diamond A Dam near Cowan Reservoir, and tremendous hiking is available along the Batt Trail. Man, is there a load of fun stuff to do near Cowan Reservoir. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Cowan Reservoir reach the 90's, and the overnight is a bit chillier of course, generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Cowan Reservoir dip into the 20's. local trail. Cowan Reservoir gets very little rain; through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and July is when it's the driest.
Why not camp at Jarbidge National Forest Campground since you're here at Cowan Reservoir, and float down the rapids of Bruneau River - West Fork in a kayak.
