Hiking along the Farrow Mountain Trail is perfect fun, and you can run the rapids of Monumental Creek. An average amount of rainfall falls at Cottonwood Lake; January is when you get the most snow here while July is frequently the driest month. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun stuff the Salmon River Mountains has to offer. There's so much to do here at Cottonwood Lake that you       need to camp here for a while, Papoose Creek Campground is a splendid place for that, and going for a hike along the Black Butte Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. For the period of the days of summer here at Cottonwood Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 30's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; after the sun                  is down all through the winter temperatures at Cottonwood Lake dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Cottonwood Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Parrot Placer Campground is a pleasant local campground, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Coyote Springs Trail. Cottonwood Butte can be seen from Cottonwood Lake, and a charming lake like Basin Lake is a splendid location to pop by. So many cool things to do at Cottonwood Lake, so little time. A wonderful site for whitewater paddling close to Cottonwood Lake is Big Creek.
