Coolwater Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. High temperatures at Coolwater Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Coolwater Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. The East Boyd Glover Roundtop National Recreation Trail offers hiking at its best,

| | and Coolwater Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Slide Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground. These mountains rock, just explore all the entertaining things to do in the Clearwater Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Selway River offers some pleasant whitewater; you'll come across a pretty lake called Fire Lake.

Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend
Lochsa River.
There's so much to do here at Coolwater Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Knife Edge Campground is a magnificent site for that, and the top of Coolwater Mountain is easily seen from Coolwater Lake. The
amount of rainfall that falls at Coolwater Lake is close to the national average; all through January this area sees the most snow, and the driest month is July.
