The snow is great at Schweitzer; in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pack River. Cooks Lake gets a normal amount of rain; through the month of December you get the most snow around here; July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Cooks Lake has to offer, you can camp at Deep Creek Campground;       Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a perfect place to get some rest. Cooks Lake is a good place to camp, Dirt Oven Campground is a good place, and you can go for a hike on the White Mountain Trail. Cooks Lake really is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. A lake close by is Brooks Lake; dry warm beds await you at Sandpoint Super 8 Motel. High temperatures at Cooks Lake through the long summer days are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures                  are in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Cooks Lake.
