Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Boundary Creek, and Continental Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Fort Cook Recreational Vehicle Park is a brilliant place to camp nearby. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Continental       Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are regularly in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Continental Lake dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not visit Upper Priest Lake close to Continental Lake; after a long day outdoors Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a perfect place to                  spend a night or two. The annual precipitation here at Continental Lake is about average; during December this area sees the most snow, and the driest of the months is July. If you come at the right time of year, Priest River offers some good whitewater, and you can stay the night at Goveia Beach & Campgrounds. So many amusing things right next door to Continental Lake, completely incredible.
