Go to Colt Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Colt Lake is a good spot of common rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Camping at White Sand Campground is always a great experience, and Friday Pass is another nice spot to stop at close by. Colt Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Powell Campground is a fine local campground, and paddling on Crooked Fork

High temperatures at Colt Lake through the days of summer are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Colt Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. for a hike along the Granite Ridge Trail, and Grave Peak is clearly visible from Colt Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Bitterroot Range.
You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Bitterroot
Range. White Sand Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. That right there is plenty of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Bitterroot Range has it all. Good hiking is available along the State Line Trail, and
if you've had enough of Colt Lake, Swamp Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There are glorious sites to look at along the Colgate Licks Nature National Recreation Trail, and Super 8 Motel - Hamilton is a perfect place to get some rest.
