Get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Salmon River - Yankee Fork, and after a long day outdoors Clarion Inn Ketchum is a fine location to spend a night or two. Challis Creek Dam is charming and it's right next door to Challis Creek Lakes, and why not camp at Eightmile Campground since you're here at Challis Creek Lakes. A delightful place for whitewater paddling  
   close to Challis Creek Lakes is Camas Creek.
Challis Creek Lakes is a location that is quite dry typically; December is when you get the most snow here while July is mostly the driest month. For the period of the summertime, highs usually are in the 70's at Challis Creek Lakes while overnight lows are commonly in the 30's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Challis Creek Lakes
 
               temperatures sink to the-10's. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. If the weather is great here at Challis Creek Lakes, you can go for a hike along the Twin Buttes Trail; a great place to camp here at Challis Creek Lakes is Mill Creek Campground.
