The beauty of Cedar Well is reason enough to stop by. Whitewater paddling is great on Portneuf River, and this is a popular place for people from Pocatello. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Scout Mountain Campground, and after a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn University is a delightful site to spend a night or two. | | is a good choice. Cherry Springs Campground is a fine campground nearby. Around Cedar Well you don’t get a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls during May, and July is the month with the least moisture. At Cedar Well through the summertime months highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Cedar Well fall into the 10's.
