Sack Creek Campground is a good campground nearby, and do take a hike on the Blue Bunch Trail. The summit of Red Mountain can be made out from Cat Lakes, and a delightful nearby hotel is Ashley Inn. Red Mountain Lakes is a tremendous lake in close proximity to Cat Lakes; Cat Lakes is right by the Camptender Trail. For the duration of the summer at Cat Lakes highs are       ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Cat Lakes dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the Sawtooth Range has to offer. Cat Lakes is a great place to visit for more than one day, Bear Valley Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit                  Payette River - South Fork. The amount of rain that falls at Cat Lakes is close to the national average; the month with most of the snow is January; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawtooth Range. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area near Cat Lakes has to offer. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Bear Valley Creek, and the Kirkham Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best.
