There is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Caribou Lake called the White Mountain Trail; if you need a site to stay Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a good choice. Get your heart pumping                  on the wonderful whitewater of Priest River, and Schweitzer has pleasant slopes and a friendly staff. Summertime at Caribou Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
