Paddling on Salmon River is so much fun; if you're here at Camp Lake it's a pleasant idea to check out Tenlake Basin. Camp Lake gets a normal amount of rain; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow; July is when it's the driest. That right there is loads of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Sawtooth Range has it all. Soldier Mountain Ski Resort has nice slopes and a friendly staff, and you can have       a good hiking adventure along the Bull Moose Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Camp Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Powerplant Campground is a splendid location for that. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Camp Lake has to offer, you can camp at Alturas Inlet Campground. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. If the weather is brilliant here at Camp Lake, you can go for a hike along                  the Yuba River Trail, and obviously, this is a tremendous area for people who like lakes, Heart Lake is a lake close by. Camp Lake is in a wonderful location in the shadow of the Sawtooth Range, and Salmon River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by. The Sawtooth Range scenery is always beautiful. High temperatures at Camp Lake during the summertime months are in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Camp Lake. Going for a hike along the Yellow Belly Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Vernon Lake. Be careful coming to the Sawtooth Range, you might not ever want to return home again.
