Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are frequently in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at California Lake. California Lake is frequently a reasonably dehydrated location; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Box Lake Trail, and       a wonderful place to camp here at California Lake is Chinook Campground. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. You'll stumble on a picturesque lake called Marshall Lake near California Lake, and why not camp at Burgdorf Campground while you're here at California Lake. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area in close proximity to California Lake has to offer. A great place for whitewater paddling close to California                  Lake is Salmon River - South Fork; you have to certainly dedicate some time to Kelly Meadows while you're here at California Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. Do visit Bear Lake near California Lake, it's a charming lake; the Crestline Trail offers hiking at its best. All the outdoors fun things in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back over and over.
