    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Burnside Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. Burnside Lake is a good spot to camp, Black Lee Campground is a good spot; dry warm beds await you at Mccall Super 8 Lodge. This place, the Salmon River Mountains, has so much outdoors cool stuff. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Burnside Lake has to offer, you can camp at Upper Payette Campground.
Western Mountain Lodge is
 
   a nice location to get some rest, and you can go for a hike on the Crestline Trail. It is very dried up here at Burnside Lake regularly; May is the wettest month with most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Burnside Lake. If you would like a little side journey, try Lick Creek Summit, and not far from Burnside Lake you'll stumble on Duck Lake which is a pretty lake.
If you have a thing about
 
               the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Salmon River Mountains. There's magnificent hiking along the Fall Creek Trail, and there's whitewater on Payette River - North Fork for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Box Lake Trail, and Beaverdam Peak is easy to spot from Burnside Lake. Summer at Burnside Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and night lows all through the winter for Burnside Lake tend to be in the 20's.
