    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Idaho you can check out Buck Lake. This location rules, just check out all the cool stuff to do next to Buck Lake. Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground is a splendid campground nearby. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The Salmon River Mountains rules! Why not take a refreshing hike along the Big Chief Creek Trail; if you came for an overnight stay  
   Pistol Creek Campground is a glorious place to camp.
The yearly precipitation here at Buck Lake is about average; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Mule Hill Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Rapid River offers some great whitewater. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Buck Lake; Big Baldy Ridge Trail is a wonderful local
 
               trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Brundage Mountain.
High temperatures at Buck Lake through the months of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 30's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Buck Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River - Middle Fork; some of the water close by flows, like Remington Creek.
