If you are traveling by, why not stop by Buck Lake. Buck Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things near Buck Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Panther Creek offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Camas Creek; of course, this is a good area for folks who like lakes, Alpine Lake is a lake in close proximity.

You'll need more than a day to explore everything Buck Lake has to offer, you can camp at Yellowjacket Campground. At Buck Lake you don’t see much rain; through June this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February. On a gorgeous day you obtain a panorama of Puddin Mountain from Buck Lake; hiking along the South Fork Trail is splendid | |

Buck Lake is right by the Waterfall Trail. There's so much to do here at Buck Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Crags Campground is a great place for that. At Buck Lake all through the warm months highs are in
the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Buck Lake during the winter generally plunge into the 0's.
