    Go to Buck Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Buck Lake; Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail is a great local trail, and get your pulse rate up on the pleasant whitewater of Selway River. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Buck Lake; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July is when it's the driest. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Clearwater Mountains. If you're here, you might  
   as well have a look at Drake Saddle.
This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Meadow Creek National Recreation Trail; a perfect spot to camp here at Buck Lake is Cedar Flats Campground. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. Drake Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at, naturally you could also have a look at Highline Lakes since you're here; it's not far at all. A good place for whitewater
 
               paddling in close proximity to Buck Lake is Moose Creek; Buck Lake is not the only location close by, Fawn Lake is a close by lake.
So many enjoyable things in the Clearwater Mountains, just amazing. There's magnificent hiking along the Nez Perce Trail; camping is available at Bridge Creek Campground. Buck Lake is located in the Clearwater Mountains. During the summertime months highs here at Buck Lake reach the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's while Buck Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's.

Red River Campground is in a fairly open flat area with a? creek suitable for bathing running through it. Also fire pits, outhouses and sites spaced far apart for adequate privacy. Some sites have a tree or two nearby for shade....
