If you are in this part of Idaho make sure to pay a visit to Buck Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Clearwater Mountains. From a precipitation point of view Buck Lake is a reasonably common site; through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and July on the other hand is the driest. Just can't get enough of the Clearwater Mountains. Paddling on Selway River is so much fun; hiking is a popular thing to do around Buck Lake;

| | Nez Perce Trail is a tremendous local trail.
You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Stay the night at Bridge Creek Campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Fawn Lake is right next door to Buck Lake, and there's splendid hiking along the Meadow Creek National Recreation Trail. get into the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Buck Lake.
And if that's not sufficient there's lots more
exciting stuff to do in the Clearwater Mountains. A glorious site to explore near Buck Lake is Drake Saddle, and getting to Drake Creek from Buck Lake is easy. Buck Lake is a perfect location to camp, Cedar Flats Campground is a perfect location, and float down the rapids of Moose Creek in a kayak.
