Amazing escape! A fun hike and a fantastic fishing lake!...
Kennally Creek Trail
14 miles away I love the Kennally Creek area and have camped at the Kennally Creek Campground for over thirty years. I have never done much hiking but have found I really enjoy it. I am having a family reunion next summer and some of the members are hikers, fisherman, horse back riders--just ourtdoors people in general. I saw on the map at the campground that there are several lakes up the trail and was wondering what lakes are accessible from trails--in particular, Nick Lake, as well as others. Any information you could provide would be wonderful! ...
Fish Lake
17 miles away Very hard to get to bad roads, good fishing medium size trout....
Blackmare Lake
18 miles away The trail to Blackmare Lake is in very poor shape. The fire last year weakened the trees and the wind took down many of them. There are several 24-36' logs across the trail preventing horse travel. Hikers can make the trek, but expect to be climbing over a lot of down timber. The trails themselves are not terrible, but they are very loose with decomposed granite sand. The other big problem with the trail is that past the signs at the first bridge, there is absolutely no direction as to where the trails will take you or how far you are along the trails. ...
Miners Peak Trail
18 miles away The trail has not been maintained. I was able to hike it easily to the top 2 or 3 years ago. Not today...It was overgrown a lot and substantial deadfall. There are some burned spots also. That said, it's beautiful and a rigorous hike. Wear pants as the twigs will scratch you, and take insect repellant. Check your body for ticks also. The lookout is cool....
