Whitewater paddling is good on White Sand Creek, and Boyd Lake is a great place to camp, Schumaker Campground is a great place. Chute Creek is a splendid place to stop at. Summertime highs at Boyd Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Boyd       Lake are in the 10's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Bitterroot Range will keep you coming back many times. You can never get enough of the nice skiing at Lost Trail, and if you want to stop at some interesting stuff, stop at Dead Elk Point. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Bear Creek Pass Campground, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater                  paddling on Big Sand Creek.
