you can camp at Paddy Flat Campground. If you need a place to stay AmericInn McCall is a great choice, and you can stay the night at Lake Fork Campground. For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the
80's at Boulder Lake, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Boulder Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Boulder Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains.

 | 10 miles away The trail to Blackmare Lake is in very poor shape. The fire last year weakened the trees and the wind took down many of them. There are several 24-36' logs across the trail preventing horse travel. Hikers can make the trek, but expect to be climbing over a lot of down timber. The trails themselves are not terrible, but they are very loose with decomposed granite sand. The other big problem with the trail is that past the signs at the first bridge, there is absolutely no direction as to where the trails will take you or how far you are along the trails. ... |
