Idaho has many beautiful lakes and Blue Lake is one of them. Beaver Mountain is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and do take a hike on the Bloomington Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Around Blue Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; June is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is July.
A great place like Egan Basin here at Blue Lake is too wonderful to miss, and lakes are such peaceful locations, why not

| | explore Hidden Lake. Summertime at Blue Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Blue Lake. Hiking along the Midland Trail is good fun, and you'll hit upon a gorgeous lake called Horse Lake.

entertaining things in one place! Blue Lake is excellent! Going for a hike along the High Line Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; a good site to stop at nearby is Corral Hollow. This lake is so wonderful.
If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Logan River. There's so much to do here at Blue Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Porcupine Campground is a great location for that.

Bloomington Lake Trail
 | ...omington Canyon on the West Side of the Bear Lake Valley. The canyon road is accessed off of Highway 89 in the community of Bloomington. It is approximately 11 miles to the top of the canyon and parking area. The road is dirt and gravel and suitable for most passenger cars. It is a short trail to the lake where you will be rewarded with a beautiful high mountain lake with high surrounding cliffs.
There are many trails the lead off from the canyon and connect to other surrounding canyons. One of the more notable trails is the Highline Trail. This is an approximate 60 mile trail that runs north and south along the ridge line of the mountains. The trail can be accessed at many point including the top of Bloomington Canyon. At the parking area the road continues a bit futher west and the road turns into a trail that leads up to the ridge. | The Limber Pine trail is more of a nature walk than a hike. It's good for kids and those seeking an easy, short trail. Educational posting about flora, etc. are included around this loop trail. It's fun, too, even if you are a serious hiker. I think I could complete the loop in 15 minutes, but one posting I saw said 45 minutes. Walk it and find out. Easy access right off the road.... |
