Do set aside some time for Egan Basin if you're here at Blue Lake; going for a hike on the Midland Trail is always a great adventure. If you're here, you might as well explore Corral Hollow, and nearby you find the Bloomington Lake Trail which is a nice hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Beaver Mountain is perfect, and float down the rapids of Logan River in a kayak. Not much rain falls here at Blue Lake; the wettest month of the year is

| | frequently June, that's the one that rains the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. There are magnificent places to explore along the High Line Trail; Porcupine Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. Cloverleaf Campground is a pleasant local campground. summertime months are in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Blue Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Lots of folks from Logan come to Blue Lake, and not far from Blue Lake you'll come across Horse Lake which is a beautiful lake.

Bloomington Lake Trail
 | ...n Canyon on the West Side of the Bear Lake Valley. The canyon road is accessed off of Highway 89 in the community of Bloomington. It is approximately 11 miles to the top of the canyon and parking area. The road is dirt and gravel and suitable for most passenger cars. It is a short trail to the lake where you will be rewarded with a beautiful high mountain lake with high surrounding cliffs. There are many trails the lead off from the canyon and connect to other surrounding canyons. One of the more notable trails is the Highline Trail. This is an approximate 60 mile trail that runs north and south along the ridge line of the mountains. The trail can be accessed at many point including the top of Bloomington Canyon. At the parking area the road continues a bit futher west and the road turns into a trail that leads up to the ridge. Your can travel north or south with the south direction being the most spectacular The Highline Trail is popular with hikers, horses, mountain bikers, ATV's and motorcycles. Limber Pine Trail
 | The Limber Pine trail is more of a nature walk than a hike. It's good for kids and those seeking an easy, short trail. Educational posting about flora, etc. are included around this loop trail. It's fun, too, even if you are a serious hiker. I think I could complete the loop in 15 minutes, but one posting I saw said 45 minutes. Walk it and find out. Easy access right off the road.... |
