    Many people like to go to Blue Jay Lake. The annual rain here at Blue Jay Lake is about average; most of the snow falls throughout January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Blue Jay Lake you can take a hike along the Yuba River Trail, and you can stay the night at Graham Bridge Campground. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. If you come at the right time of year, Payette  
   River - South Fork offers some great whitewater, and you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Black Warrior Creek Trail.
You could also stop by Warrior Lakes if you're here at Blue Jay Lake; it's close by, and Blue Jay Lake is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, Johnson Creek Campground is a glorious site to camp nearby. All through the summertime highs here at Blue Jay Lake get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink
 
               down into the 40's. Highs all through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Blue Jay Lake are in the 10's. Some of the water nearby flows, like Blue Jay Creek.
A lake close by is Lodgepole Lake, and going for a hike along the Hot Springs Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. The view of Swanholm Peak from Blue Jay Lake is lovely, and a nice close by hotel is Sleep Inn Mountain Home.

Elk lake is approximately 12 miles from the Grandjean campground. You can not reach it by car. The trail has mild elevation gain and parallels the river during many sections. There are no designated campgrounds at elk lake however 3 spots have obvious use. Deer and elk are commonly viewed near the lake, especially in the early morning or near dusk....
