Blacktail Lake is right by the Alpine Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Kootenai River Inn & Casino. Blacktail       Lake is a beautiful lake in the Cabinet Mountains. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Cabinet Mountains. Blacktail Lake gets very little rain; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while July is generally the driest month. Moose Mountain is simple to spot from Blacktail Lake, and naturally, this is a nice neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Moose Lake is a lake nearby. During the summertime months here at Blacktail                  Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Blacktail Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Cabinet Mountains. Hiking along the Shertz Trail is magnificent fun. There's so much to do here at Blacktail Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Porcupine Lake Campground is a delightful site for that. This lake is so wonderful.
