There's whitewater on Monumental Creek for all you adrenaline people; obviously, this is a nice neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Basin Lake is a lake in the vicinity. Black Lake is a good spot of normal rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that snows the most; July on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Black Lake through       the warmest time of the year are in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Black Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Basin Creek; why not camp at Papoose Creek Campground while you're here at Black Lake. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. You can run the rapids of Big Creek in the neighborhood                  of Black Lake, and going for a hike on the Farrow Mountain Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. Go for a hike on the Black Butte Trail, and a fine spot to camp here at Black Lake is Elkhorn Bar Campground. This place, Black Lake, it clearly has so much outdoors amusing stuff.
