This place, the Clearwater Mountains, has so much outdoors cool things. Put some time aside to spend at Jug Spring if you're here at Big Talk Lake, and Floodwood Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. If the weather is magnificent here at Big Talk Lake, you can go for a hike along the Rukgaber Trail; you're probably addicted to lakes, Steamboat Lake is one of those nearby. So much exciting stuff to do in the Clearwater Mountains, not enough time.

| | While you're here at Big Talk Lake you can take a hike along the Old Montana Trail, and you can stay the night at Twin Creek Campground. Skiing at Lookout Pass is one of those things you just have to do, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clearwater River - Little North Fork. descend down into the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are usually in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Big Talk Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Little Goat Mountains towers over Big Talk Lake, and the Freezeout Trail
is a splendid hiking trail close by. Having a fine time at Big Talk Lake is simple. This is a tremendous vicinity for people who like lakes. Noseeum Lake is a lake close by, and Big Talk Lake is a glorious location to visit for
more than one day, Little North Fork Campground is a glorious location to camp nearby. The amount of rain that falls at Big Talk Lake is close to the national average; January is when you get the most snow here; the driest of the
months is July. Big Talk Lake is located in the Clearwater Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. One of the overriding features of the surroundings of Big Talk Lake is Blackdome Peak.

Lookout Pass

1935. The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho. These ski adventurers would hop off the railcars at the summit and utilize a highway storage shed as a warming hut
that they nicknamed ''Buzzards Roost''. Lookout Pass has operated every winter season since 1935 and has a
