This lake is so wonderful. White Sand Creek is a tremendous whitewater spot next to Big Sand Lake, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along the Sally Ridge Trail. Throughout the warm months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Big Sand Lake, and the night is fairly cooler of course, frequently in       the 40's. During the wintertime highs are generally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Big Sand Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Hamilton is a pleasant choice, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Lee Ridge Trail. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Big Sand Lake is excellent! A good place for whitewater paddling                  right next door to Big Sand Lake is Big Sand Creek, and do take a hike on the Granite Ridge Trail. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Bitterroot Range. Do go to Corky Lake near Big Sand Lake, it's a picturesque lake. While you're here at Big Sand Lake, you could also go to scenic Hidden Lake, and a splendid site to camp here at Big Sand Lake is Colt Creek Campground. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Bitterroot Range.
