The amount of rainfall that falls at Big Pool is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Do pop by Long Pool in close proximity to Big Pool, it's a striking lake, and Big Pool is good enough to spend more than a day at, Devils Elbow Campground is a good       local campground. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Silver Mountain, and you can go for a hike on the Rock City Pond Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Silver Mountain Ski & Summer Resort is a great place to get some rest; don't leave Big Pool without first going for a hike along the Spyglass Miners Trail. Be careful coming to the Bitterroot Range, you might not ever wanna go home again. Paddling on Coeur d'Alene River is so much fun,                  and Ash Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. Get drenched paddling on Couer d'Alene River - Big North Fork, and perfect hiking is available along the Coeur d'Alene River National Recreation Trail. Yeah, come up here to the Bitterroot Range for a perfect time. If you need a location to stay Baymont Inn & Suites Kellogg is a perfect choice. There's so much to do here at Big Pool that you need to camp here for a while, Big Hank Campground is a perfect site for that. This lake is so wonderful. High temperatures at Big Pool throughout the summertime are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows at Big Pool during the wintertime typically fall into the 20's.
