Through the warmest time of the year at Big Lookout Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Big Lookout Lake descend into the 10's. The yearly rainfall here at Big Lookout Lake is about average;       throughout January this area sees the most snow, and July is when it's the driest. Take a hike on the Devils Creek Trail, and paddling on Boise River - North Fork is so much fun. Hiking along the Hot Springs Creek Trail is delightful fun, and you can make out Trinity Mountain from Big Lookout Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Whitewater paddling is good on Boise River - South Fork, and Little Lookout Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore.                  This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Big Lookout Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Big Roaring River Lake Campground is a glorious spot for that, and why not a little side journey to Packer Creek.
