     Bernard Lake is a nice lake to visit. And that's not all you can do here in the Salmon River Mountains. Get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Deadwood River; Bernard Mountain is easy to spot from Bernard Lake. Just can't get enough of Bernard Lake. On a perfect day at Bernard Lake you can take a hike along the Tyndall Ridge Trail, and if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Little Beaver Creek Trail. During the long summer days,  
   highs commonly are in the 90's at Bernard Lake while overnight lows are frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Bernard Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. Blue Point Campground is a nice campground here; while you're here you can take a hike along the Porter Creek Trail. Not much precipitation falls here at Bernard Lake; most of the
 
               snow falls during January, and the driest of the months is July.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Bernard Lake is nice fun, Deer Flat Campground is a nice local campground, and a pleasant spree to Crane Meadow is a splendid way to spend an afternoon. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. A great place for whitewater paddling close to Bernard Lake is Johnson Creek, and hey, Gotta ski right? Brundage Mountain is a delightful site to do that.
