There's no way someone can get bored here in the Bitterroot Range. A lake close by is Little Grizzly Lake, and One Horn Basin is a nice place. So much exciting stuff close to Bell Lake, truly mind-boggling. If you come at the right time of year, Big Sand Creek offers some good whitewater. There's so much to do here at Bell Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Schumaker Campground is a glorious site for that. If you get bored of Bell Lake, you could also

| | stop by close by Milepost Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend White Sand Creek. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Bell Lake with night lows in the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are regularly in the 30's; nighttime lows at Bell Lake throughout the wintertime ordinarily drop into the 10's. Old Nez Perce Trail. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. The amount of precipitation that falls at Bell Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the snow is January while July is the month with
the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Have a nice hiking adventure along the Old Nez Perce Trail, and a day on the slopes of Lost Trail is just what you need. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is abundant here in the Bitterroot Range. If you need a location to stay Best Western Hamilton Inn is a magnificent choice.

Tag Alder Lake
 | 19 miles away I venture up to Tag Alder every year. It is getting more and more difficult to get up there because of the new growth of trees from the fires of 2000. Once there it is beautiful lake. Another half hour hike up and you will be at the summit of the mountain. There is a nice camp area on North shore.
