Bear Lake is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant trip to Little Pony Meadows is a perfect way to spend an afternoon; perfect hiking is available along the South Fork Sheep Creek Trail. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Camp Creek Cutoff Trail, and you can stay the night at Shiefer Campground.

| | whitewater paddling on Salmon River - South Fork, and Chinook Campground is a great campground nearby. So much fun stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains, not enough time. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bear Lake; Indian Ridge Trail is a glorious local trail, and Secesh River is a wonderful whitewater spot close by. Bear Lake. Bear Lake is a good location of typical rainfall; all through January this area sees the most snow, and the driest of the months is July.
