There's pleasant hiking along the West Boundary Trail, and Teton Mountain View Lodge is a delightful place to get some rest. The amount of precipitation that falls at Bear Lake is close to the national average; through the month of January you get the most snow around here; the driest month is July. Bear Lake is not the only place close by, Cub Lake is a close by lake, and the Boundary Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. Paddling on Robinson Creek is so
much fun, and you can never get enough of the brilliant skiing at Grand Targhee.
This lake is so wonderful. Don’t forget to pop by Bear Meadow while you're here at Bear Lake, and after a long day outdoors Island Park Village Resort is a great place to spend a night or two. Just can't get enough of Bear Lake. You could also visit Porcupine Lake if you're here at Bear Lake; it's nearby, and if you came to camp Bear Gulch Campground is a great place to do that.

There's so much to do here at Bear Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Squirrel Creek Guest Ranch and Inn is a nice place for that, and Rising Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at.
During the months of summer at Bear Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Bear Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Bear Lake is right by the De Coster Trail, and get drenched paddling on Falls River.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Robinson Creek
I spent many hours on Robinson Creek fishing and I m not sure as to how is is even close to being class 2-3. It is less than knee deep in most spots. Better amend your report here....

Warm River
The top mile of this run is a 250 ft drop through a wood choked cataract. it is so full of strainers that it looks more or less suicidal....

Henrys Fork
Great little slice of wilderness with a wicked put-in below lower mesa falls and just enough boat eating whitewater to weed out most floaters. I see parts of boats wrapped around rocks every year. Not for beginners. Fishing can be good and watch for bears, moose and eagles. An easier float starts part of the way down, accessed by the old Bear Gulch ski resort road, if it's open....
