Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Salmon River, and let's not forget Bear Lake Creek which is a stream that you may bump into while here. Swimm Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. Bear Lake is typically a reasonably dry spot; the month of December is the wettest with       most of the snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Ocalkens Lake, and don't leave Bear Lake without first going for a hike along the Bull Moose Trail. All through the days of summer at Bear Lake highs are generally in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 30's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Bear Lake. You'll                  need more than a day to look at everything Bear Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lower O'Brien Campground, and the sight of beautiful Watson Peak is pleasant. But wait, there's more to do close to Bear Lake.
