If you like lakes and you're in this part of Idaho you can check out Bear Lake. During the warm days of summer highs here at Bear Lake reach the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are generally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Bear Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. Going for a hike along the Midland Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and camping is available

Inn Logan is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Mud Lake; a wonderful close by hotel is SUPER 8 MOTEL - MONTPELIER. This lake is so wonderful.
Not far from Bear Lake, you'll find Merkley Lake which is a beautiful lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Bear Lake North RV Park and Campground is a great site to camp.

 | 15 miles away The Limber Pine trail is more of a nature walk than a hike. It's good for kids and those seeking an easy, short trail. Educational posting about flora, etc. are included around this loop trail. It's fun, too, even if you are a serious hiker. I think I could complete the loop in 15 minutes, but one posting I saw said 45 minutes. Walk it and find out. Easy access right off the road.... |
Bloomington Lake Trail
 | 19 miles away ...ail and Bloomington Lake is up Bloomington Canyon on the West Side of the Bear Lake Valley. The canyon road is accessed off of Highway 89 in the community of Bloomington. It is approximately 11 miles to the top of the canyon and parking area. The road is dirt and gravel and suitable for most passenger cars. It is a short trail to the lake where you will be rewarded with a beautiful high mountain lake with high surrounding cliffs. There are many trails the lead off from the canyon and connect to other surrounding canyons. One of the more notable trails is the Highline Trail. This is an approximate 60 mile trail that runs north and south along the ridge line of the mountains. The trail can be accessed at many point including the top of Bloomington Canyon. At the parking area the road continues a bit futher west and the road turns into a trail that leads up to the ridge.
