Summertime highs at Basin Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows at Basin Lake throughout the winter generally fall into the 10's. Basin Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture. Get yourself into a kayak       and hit Big Creek, and pleasant hiking is available along the Farrow Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Black Butte Trail offers hiking at its best, and get wet paddling on Monumental Creek. You completely must love the Salmon River Mountains. Camping at Basin Lake is great fun, Parrot Placer Campground is a great local campground, and a scenic lake like Cottonwood Lake is a pleasant place to have a look at. Yeah, come here to Basin Lake for                  a good time. A glorious vista of beautiful Cottonwood Butte is available from Basin Lake. There's perfect hiking along the Coyote Springs Trail, and why not camp at Papoose Creek Campground while you're here at Basin Lake.
